Stanley’s Kopje perches high on a rocky kopje, enjoying fine 360 degree views over the surrounding Mikumi wilderness, whilst the 12 tents are spaced around the lower perimeter of the hill, with stunning views across the plains. The tents are pitched on high wooden platforms with traditionally built thatched roofs which provide shade from the sun while you sit on your veranda and enjoy the game around the camp.

The safari guide Yuston had the most unbelievable eye for spotting the wildlife out in the park. We had an amazing three day two night safari and staying at Stanley's Kopje was the icing on the cake. The tents are so comfortable and the view was unbeatable.

We stayed for two nights in this tented camp and our experience was excellent. When we arrived we couldn’t believe that there could be a lodge, at the top of a hill of Mikumi reserve, integrated in landscape, respecting the environment and at the same time so comfortable.

Fantastic location, fantastic view and only a drink in the evening, in the leather chair, with this view hardly beatable. Tent is raised and the terrace is a dream. Get up in the morning and watch the animals at the waterhole, wonderful.

The dry season between June to end November has the higher concentrations of game. The camp remains open until the end of February, reopening again 1st June each year. Once the rains break the park will turn green and lush quite quickly – beautiful.
